HARMONY

The harmony in this film was in more than just the actual music. The brief was to inspire the sales team of a pharmaceutical company at their global conference, acknowledging their tough year and picking up their spirits for the one ahead. It was a tricky balancing act of metaphor, storytelling, brand content and of course sound design.

An especially composed orchestral piece was designed to not just sound great, but to tell a story in its own right, as a solo violinist leads a ragtag group of musicians to a beautiful and inspiring finish.

To create Harmony took weeks of preparation and a mammoth two-day shoot. After finding musicians of many different disciplines, ethnicities and age groups, who were also actors, the next trick was getting them to play along with energy and authenticity again and again, while filming it all with just as much zeal.

This film was incredibly well received and a lot of fun to make. However the Earl Films team doesn’t watch it that often these days as the music is still just too damn catchy (you’ve been warned!)
